Colour, like light, can be a critical element in photography. Both can affect mood or contribute to geometric form. Here, as February draws to a close, is an image, semi-abstract in form, utilising essentially only one colour - yellow.

A side-benefit of being locked down in Melbourne has been the greater exploration and knowledge one gains with respect to one’s local area. Black Rock is an iconic bayside Melbourne location with imposing cliffs. It is popular with those seeking a sunset or general cliffside vista view.
South of Anchorage is a very attractive route with one of the highlights - the Turnagain Arm.

Its equilibrium can be undermined and disturbed so easily by human intervention. With a greater understanding of nature’s nuances, mankind can learn to co-exist in harmony.

The Rocky Mountains in Canada are spectacular. I was lucky enough to go on the Rock Mountaineer and Jasper was one stop on this trip.

Melbourne has just come out of a period of extended lockdown. This has been challenging for Melburnians on a number of fronts. The relative isolation impacts people differently. I witnessed a period of growth during the period.
It was Spring. A bud emerged one day. A green bud. Some days later the bud flourished into a burst of greenery. As the days progressed the bud flourished, opening further, with mature leaves.
Let us celebrate the joy of growth. … And the appreciation of small things. And nature.

The two monochrome images submitted were Highly Commended. The first is of a waterfall near Ambleside, Cumbria northern UK. The second image is of Sandy Point beach in southern Victoria in Australia.
